Fashion, we can say, is as old as the human race and we can see how it has evolved from the early years, to the middle ages up till the 21st century. In the past, women wore really long modest dresses, as the middle ages approached, they switched it up a bit and were adorned with more elaborate outfits, like layered skirts, corsets, etc. Different factors over the years have bee responsible for this evolution, such as age, values, environment, societal changes, amongst others.
A lot of us see fashion in different ways, some see it as following trend, for others, it is the art of styling, but one thing remains sure and that is, fashion is a form of self expression. The famous designer Gianni Versace once said, "Don't be into trends. Don't make fashion own you but decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live". One good thing about fashion is its versatility. You can create your own style and stick with it. There's really no hard and fast rule to it. However, we must be mindful of certain elements, such as height, body size, body shape, age, in some cases even religion. I will create a post on understanding your body shape.
Let us not forget that colours play an important role in fashion and styling. Some people like vibrant colours, while others like to keep it cool. I believe that occasions, as well as seasons are determinants of colours to wear. For instance, you will not wear loud colours to a professional business meeting, you will want to keep the colours calm, like brown, blue, grey, white and of course the ever versatile black. It is also very important to know how to match your colours.
Thankfully, with the advent of social media, there are various sources of style inspirations. So whether you are a fashionista or you're still struggling to get yourself together in terms of styling, you can always look good.

For me, styling is quite essential and makes a person look fashionable regardless of the price tag of the fashion items.

DeleteOnly a “natural” gets it right without questions. In other words styling comes natural from top to bottom….it should flow just right not necessarily on a big budget!
